One-Page Info
Time
and again I give my colleagues at work an article out of the FIGU Bulletin,
FIGU Sonder-Bulletin or a copy of one of my introductions in Billy's books to
read. Sometimes I also give away a book. Somehow or other it appeals to me to
draw them a little out of their material-intellectual shell. I let my
occasional tendency in this regard, so to say, run free in a well-controlled
way, above all with my friend Benno and my business colleagues Fredi and
Andreas (who always lets himself be called Andy, which means Òstupid dogÓ, in a
very old language ).
Their
reactions are of course completely different, and their responses vary
according to their personalities as follows:
á I
have read it but only understand half of it.
á Your
article is very well written, but I cannot assess whether or not what you say
is true.
á What
is the benefit for me?
á The
sentences are much too long, I fall asleep in between.
á So
much repetition; I surely don't need that.
á What
does science have to say in regards to your statements?
á If
you want me to be interested in this, then it has to be on one page.
á You
have researched well, but then, in my opinion, only assumptions follow. No one
knows whether it is really so.
á After
all, that is also only a belief; you do not really know it.
á At
the moment I have no time to read this, I have other priorities.
Strangely
enough they never ask any questions, although they obviously do not understand much of the material. I
conclude from this that they are not interested in true cognition and
knowledge―or are not able to determine any benefit for themselves from
what was said or written.
Of
course it happens now and again much to my delight that some colleagues, like
for example Walter, are more attentive and interested than the others, thus
they respond more to logic. They take their time to carefully study the
articles and even search the internet in order to find more information on
Billy, the spiritual teaching and the beamships. It is also clear for them that
repetition is necessary for learning because otherwise nothing sticks as is
expressed in the Latin saying from Cassidor: ÒRepetitio est mater studiorumÓ
(repetition is the mother of studies―or students).
I
personally value the repetition very much. Firstly, with each repetition the
word order is not exactly the same, instead each repetition contains additional
knowledge; secondly repetition spares me the annoying search for the already
mentioned which, unfortunately, has not entered into my long-term memory. The repetitions
in Billy's texts are structured in a completely logical way, and my dear
slightly stuck-up colleagues, who don't notice this, actually challenge my
compassion. Perhaps they do not even want to become aware of the
treasures―for whatever reason. They either live true to the saying: ÒWhat
the eye does not see, the heart does not grieve overÓ or Òwhat I don't know
won't hurt meÓ―or they rather wait until science has confirmed Billy's
information. After all, it could be that everything was not true and they would
have endeavoured in vain―or even worse: they think, if it was true then
they would know it. It is also possible that all statements related to the
spiritual teaching is so far removed from their own thinking and understanding
that it is simply not yet possible for them to approach it.
Our
time is geared towards a fast pace, which lies very close to the thought that
is summed up by Andreas' question ÒWhat is the benefit for me?Ó Why should
someone learn something that he/she cannot yet use, something that he/she has
to acquire over decades of hard work and something for which a single lifetime
is, by far, not long enough?
As I
don't want to leave my dear colleagues out in the cold, I have pondered how
such a ÒOne-Page InfoÓ could look like. How can I say on one page that which
should move or motivate them to go further into Billy's writings and books? For
not even in their most audacious fantasies can they picture Billy's enormous
knowledge that awaits them. And they indeed want to pass on this of their own
free will?
Thus,
here is my ÒOne-Page InfoÓ which certainly can be extended:
